A gazette notification has been issued by Ms. Piyumi Artigala, the Returning Officer of the Colombo Municipal Council, stating that the membership of Ms. Mohamed Buhari Fathima Sohara, who represented the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress within the Colombo Municipal Council, has been annulled. This gazette was issued as a result of she voted in favor of the Nationwide Individuals’s Energy throughout the second vote held to cross the Colombo Municipal Council price range.
The gazette notification additional states that since Ms. Sohara Buhari’s membership within the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress celebration has been terminated, she has relinquished her council membership in that council.
Disciplinary motion had been taken in opposition to her by Mr. Nizam Kariyappar, Secretary of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress celebration, President’s Counsel and Member of Parliament, for performing opposite to the directions given by the celebration throughout the price range vote.
